Getting started

How do I sign up for Paytools?

You can try Paytools at any time against a single company by signing up for a free 14 day trial.

Our 14 day trial is a full feature trial. You can convert at anytime to one of our pricing plans.

How do I connect to Xero?

Paytools reads and analyses your payroll data in Xero to show you insights and run our compliance checks.

To connect to Xero, either use the ‘Sign in with Xero‘ button when you first log in

Or click the ‘Connect to Xero‘ once you’ve already signed in to the application

And then, select the organisation you’d like to connect and click ‘Allow Access

Adding another company

You can connect Paytools to any Xero organisation you have Payroll Admin access to.

Simply click ‘Add another company‘ from company select dropdown on the top of any page.

Note: Connecting more than one company is only available on our paid plans.

Security & Privacy

What Xero data does Paytools use?

Paytools reads payroll data from a Xero organisation. You’ll need to have ‘Payroll Admin’ rights to the Xero environment for you to connect it to Paytools.

Is my data secure? Where is it stored?

We take the security and privacy of your data very importantly.  

Paytools connects to Xero ‘read only’ and all data is stored in our secure servers, located in Australia.

Data in transit is encrypted using enterprise grade encryption.  All Company Identifiable Information (CII) and Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is encrypted in our database.

How do I remove my Xero data from Paytools?

You can remove your data anytime from Paytools by going into ‘Settings -> Xero Connection‘.

In the Xero Connection panel, you can remove an individual company data simply selecting the ‘Remove‘ link next to the company. If you’d like to remove ALL your data from Paytools select ‘Disconnect Xero‘.

Can I try Paytools for free?

 
Yes! Paytools has a full featured 14 day free trial that will allow you to connect to 1 organisations only.

Please note: Which ever organisation you connect to first will be the only company you can access during the trial.

I have more than 1 organisation connected to Xero, can I still use the free trial?

 
Yes! But we’ll only check and show results from the first organisation you connect to Paytools. To use Paytools for more than one company, check out our multiple company plans.

How is pricing based?

Paytools pricing plans is based per company connected to Paytools. A company in Paytools is called an organisation in Xero.

We offer a range of plans based on the number of companies you will be connecting to Paytools.

I’m on a single company plan – can I change what company Xero is looking at?

 
Once you’ve selected which company to use for Paytools, you won’t be able to change without upgrading to a higher level plan.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Paytools is billed on a monthly basis.

You can cancel your subscription at anytime by going into ‘Settings -> Account‘ and clicking ‘Cancel Subscription‘.

Note: you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of your monthly subscription.
