Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information Paytools and its related entities collect about you and why, what we do with that information, how we share it, and how we handle the content you place in our products and services.

 

Definitions

Services: Paytool’s Websites and Consulting Services.

Content: any information or data that you upload, submit, post, create, transmit, store or display in a Paytools Service.

Information: all of the different forms of data, content, and information collected by us as described in this Privacy Policy.

Personal Information: information that may be used to readily identify or contact you as an individual person, such as: name, address, email address, or phone number. Personal Information does not include information that has been anonymised such that it does not allow for the ready identification of specific individuals.

How do we collect Personal Information?

Examples of Personal Information we collect include: names, addresses, email addresses, phone and facsimile numbers. This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including interviews, correspondence, by telephone and facsimile, by email, via our website and from third parties. We don’t use cookies. We don’t guarantee website links or policy of authorised third parties.

We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, providing information to our customers and marketing. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time; all you need to do is let us know.

When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

Paytools may collect personal information directly from you when you:

  • register to use our Services,
  • use the Services,
  • post to our blogs,
  • contact the Paytools support team, and
  • visit our Website.

You can always choose not to provide your personal information to Paytools, but it may mean that we are unable to provide you with our Services.

 

Paytool may receive personal information from you about others

Through your use of the Service, Paytools may also collect information from you about someone else. If you provide Paytools with personal information about someone else, you must ensure that you are authorised to disclose that information to Paytools and that, without Paytools taking any further steps required by applicable data protection or privacy laws, Paytools may collect, use and disclose such information for the purposes described in this Policy.

How we use Information we collect

Paytools collects your personal information so that we can provide you with Services. In doing so, Paytools may use the personal information we have collected from you for purposes related to Services including to:

  • administer Services,
  • notify you of new or changed services offered in relation to Services,
  • carry out marketing or training relating to Services,
  • assist with the resolution of technical support issues or other issues relating to Services,

It is your responsibility to keep your password to Services safe. you should notify us as soon as possible if you become aware of any misuse of your password, and immediately change your password. 

 

Paytools can aggregate your non-personally identifiable data

By using the Paytools Services, you agree that Paytools can access, aggregate and use non-personally identifiable data Paytools has collected from you. This data will in no way identify you or any other individual.

Paytools may use this aggregated non-personally identifiable data to:

  • assist us to better understand how our customers are using Services,
  • provide our customers with further information regarding the uses and benefits of Services,
  • enhance business productivity, including by creating useful business insights from that aggregated data and allowing you to benchmark your business’ performance against that aggregated data, and
  • otherwise to improve Services.

Security of Personal Information

Paytools is committed to protecting the security of your personal information and we take all reasonable precautions to protect it from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

While using the Paytools application, traffic between your browser and our servers are encrypted using HTTPS and SSL certificates are used in the Paytools service.

However, the Internet is not in itself a secure environment and we cannot give an absolute assurance that your information will be secure at all times. Transmission of personal information over the Internet is at your own risk and you should only enter, or instruct the entering of, personal information to the Service within a secure environment.

It is your responsibility to keep your password to access the Service safe. You should notify us as soon as possible if you become aware of any misuse of your password, and immediately change your password.

 

Data Hosting

Personal Information collected by Paytools is transferred to Paytool’s servers as a function of transmission across the Internet.

Our servers are located in the region selected at the time of provisioning the Service and your Personal Information will be routed through, and stored on, those servers as part of the Service.

By providing your Personal Information to Paytools, you consent to Paytools storing your Personal Information on servers hosted in the selected region. While your Personal Information will be stored on servers located in that region, it will remain within Paytool’s effective control at all times.

The server host’s role is limited to providing a hosting and storage service to Paytools. Paytools ensures that our server hosts do not have access to, and use the necessary level of protection for, your Personal Information.

Paytools does not transfer Personal Information between server regions.

 

Paytools only discloses your Personal Information in limited circumstances

Paytools will only disclose the personal information you have provided to us to entities outside of Paytools if it is necessary and appropriate to facilitate the purpose for which your personal information was collected pursuant to this Policy, including the provision of Services.

Paytools will not otherwise disclose your personal information to a third party unless you have provided your express consent. However, you should be aware that Paytools may be required to disclose your personal information without your consent in order to comply with any court orders, subpoenas, or other legal process or investigation including by tax authorities, if such disclosure is required by law. Where possible and appropriate, we will notify you if we are required by law to disclose your personal information.

 

You can opt-out of any email communications

You may opt out of receiving promotional communications from Paytools by using the unsubscribe link within each email.

 

Access to your Personal Information

You have the right to access the Personal Information we hold about you and to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please make out your request to us in writing.

Paytools will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.

In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you before releasing such information.

 

Paytools use of cookies

In providing Services, Paytools utilises “cookies”. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer for record-keeping purposes. A cookie does not identify you personally or contain any other information about you but it does identify your computer.

We and some of our affiliates and third-party service providers may use a combination of “persistent cookies” (cookies that remain on your hard drive for an extended period of time) and “session ID cookies” (cookies that expire when you close your browser) on the Website to, for example, track overall site usage, and track and report on your use and interaction with ad impressions and ad services.
