How to get started in Paytools
How do I sign up?
Access our full suite of tools by signing up for a free 14-day trial.
By signing up, you’re agreeing to our Terms of Service.
No credit card required and during the trial you can connect multiple Xero companies. See our pricing plans page to learn more.
How do I connect to Xero?
Below are 2 easy steps to connect Paytools to Xero.Step 1: Sign up to Paytools
- If you’re a first time user: Sign up with Xero to create a Paytools account
- If you’ve already signed up: Click the ‘Connect to Xero‘ button on the home screen

Step 2: Allow access
Once you’ve logged into Xero, select the organisation you’d like to connect and click ‘Allow Access‘

Now Paytools can read and analyse your payroll data in Xero to show you insights and to run compliance checks. if you want to learn more about how Paytools connects to your Xero environment, read our data and security support article. You can connect Paytools to any Xero organisation you have Payroll Admin access to. Simply click ‘Add another company‘ from company select dropdown on the top of any page.
Note: Connecting more than one company is only available during your 14 day free trial or on our paid plans.

Can I try Paytools for free?
Yes! Paytools has a full featured 14-day free trial that will allow you to use our full suite of tools during your trial period.
How is pricing based?
Paytools pricing plans are based per company connected to Paytools. A company in Paytools is called an organisation in Xero.
We offer a range of plans based on the number of companies you will be connecting to Paytools.

I’m on a single company plan – can I change what company Xero is looking at?
Once you’ve selected which company to use for Paytools, you won’t be able to change without upgrading to a higher level plan.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Paytools is billed on a monthly basis. You can cancel your subscription at anytime by going into ‘Settings -> Account‘ and clicking ‘Cancel Subscription‘.
Note: you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of your monthly subscription.
